September was a busy month for the rivalry between HCHS and East Hickman. The two schools faced off athletically over 4 different sports on 5 separate days. The Bulldogs emerged victorious in almost every encounter.

Volleyball faced off on Tuesday, September 11, with Hickman obliterating the Eagles at EHHS in 3 sets. The Eagles never scored over a dozen points.

Also at East on Tuesday, the girl’s soccer teams left it all out on the pitch. The end result of the hard-fought match was a 4-3 East victory. On Thursday, September 13, the two teams met again, at our house. Both teams battled hard but had to walk away and settle for a 1-1 draw.

Friday night finally arrived and the moment we had all been waiting for was upon us. The Eagle and Bulldog football teams kicked off at 7 pm on September 14, and from the start, the Bulldogs dominated. HCHS controlled all 4 quarters, racking up over 350 yards of offense and displaying a stifling defense.

The Bulldogs continued their 4-year win streak with a 36-0 shutout of the Eagles.

The following week, the boys and girls cross country teams faced off on the afternoon of September 18 at East’s course. Our boys placed 3rd overall, again beating out East.

To top it all off, the Bulldog girls golf team sits at 1st in the district.

Hickman County fall sports have proven exceptionally doninant this year and have made the students, staff, and everyone involved proud.

FBLA mums decorate HCHS

by ELI ISTRE

FBLA had a very successful fundraiser this year, selling more than 200 mums! The money will go toward the business club’s field trip to the Titans Learning Lab in November.

Members unloaded, organized and distributed the mums on Wednesday, September 26. Thank you to everyone who purchased these beautiful flowers!
